Today summer rec went on a field trip to Waelti horse farm! The kids all got a chance to ride on a horse through an obstetrical course and around a field. These horses are specially trained for new riders and kids and they were lead by some workers at the farm. The kids also got a chance to explore the farm and see cats, goats, chickens, dogs, and a llama. After they got their chance to ride we also had ultimate frisbee in one of the open fields on the farm. We got to have snack right next to the horses where the kids got a chance to ask all of their questions about the farm.
Thank you to all of the wonderful parent volunteers for their help in keeping kids occupied around the farm while they waited their turn to get a ride. Also a shout out to the kids for their awesome listening skills at the farm. It is important to stay quiet and calm around horses and the kids were great at it! Overall it was a very successful day on the farm.
